hello, i am currently in the midst of moving from Providence, Rhode Island to Chicago. We'll be living just south of The Midway. (i lived in chicago once before, about ten years ago, way north in Uptown, so this will really be like a whole different city this time.)

I would love to find a cafe that is looking for someone to come in maybe once or twice a week at night to provide background music entertainment. I'm thinking literally just me, maybe one microphone to sample room sounds on the fly, a laptop, and a sound system. Creating the sounds spontaneously, rather than bringing in a lot of pre-built loops or samples or songs.

i did find a website for a cafe called Istria that would be fairly close to where i will be living, and their site they were looking for live music, but their events@ contact email address bounced and i never got a reply when i submitted to their "contact us" page. is the cafe still there?

if anyone has any leads, that would be really great.

MANNA AMBROSIA/SOMA/TEONANACATL
Hell-Low from Heaven-High; I am author/publisher of "MANNA" the book documenting the
BIBLICAL use of MAGIC-MUSHROOMS.
“Manna” Explores the evidence that Christ was the leader of a Pagan Cult teaching a revival/renaissance of an ancient mushroom ritual learned in Egypt by Moses and Christ, a mushroom religion known also to the Maya of ancient Mesoamerica, and around the world. The Manna-Book asks if this knowledge was kept secret by an elite caste of priests within the Kabalistic Jewish Rabbis until such a time as Christ came and taught it to the masses.

Exodus 16:14-24 indicates that MANNA was inevitably a MUSHROOM.
It was a small round thing in the morning dew, it bred larva, and would melt to mush if not dried. KING JAMES VERSION.
All mushroom pickers know that fly’s eggs cause larvae/worms in mushrooms. The one food most notorious for being full of worms.

Daniel 5:3-5 with Exodus 16:32 and Hebrews 9:4
indicates that the mushroom was a DRUG. After sacking the temple in Jerusalem and stealing the Ark-of-the-Covenant, the King of Babylon and his table drank from the golden cup containing the holy “MANNA” they had visions within the hour….. Psilocybin takes 30-40 minutes to induce visions.

Hebrews 9:4 makes it clear that MANNA was the most holy thing to Israelites, kept in A POT OF GOLD in the ARK OF THE COVENANT, in the MOST HOLY OF HOLYS. So sacred is the Manna that only the High Priest has access to it and only on one day of the year (Yom Kippur), which comes 3 days before the harvest moon (Hallows Eve).

Psalm 78:24-25 calls MANNA FOOD OF ANGELS, just as MAYAN/INCA PRIESTS from Meso-America called it TEONANACATL FOOD OF THE GODS.
MANNA is an Egyptian word, not Hebrew or Aramaic, meaning;
The BREAD OF GOD. This is what Moses called it in Exodus 16:15.
“Bread Of God” means “FOOD OF GOD”, which is the same meaning of TEONANACATL (Mayan), and AMBROSIA (Greek), and SOMA (Hindu) a word for mushroom tea, all these words mean “Spiritual Food”.
Coca and Tobacco Leaves found in Pharaohs tombs suggest it was ancestors of Mayan/Inca Priests who brought MUSHROOMS to Egypt.

John 2:6-9 indicates that Jesus made water into wine by boiling mushrooms (Mushroom-Tea), the waterpots were made of stone, not clay, (stone pots were used for cooking, clay pots used for storing water). These pots already contained 2-3 firkins of a substance before the pots were filled with water.
A “Firkin” is an Old-English measurement meaning a fourth part. Half to three-quarters of fresh mushrooms with water makes a potent tea. Tea is the safest way to consume field mushrooms, killing dangerous bacteria like E. Coli. In the Atharva Veda, the Hindus called this Tea SOMA. Greeks called mushroom jelly AMBROSIA.
Those who drank the water made into wine said it was the most potent intoxicant (St. John 2:10). The Bible tells us that Jesus making water into wine was the “beginning of miracles” … in other words no one saw any miracles until drinking the wine made from water. (St. John 2:11).

“MANA” is an EGYPTIAN WORD, not HEBREW or ARAMAIC, Meaning; “The BREAD OF GOD”. Moses, Christ, and Joseph, The favorite son of Israel, were all educated in Egypt. Solomon married Pharaoh’s daughter, and Abraham found his God at a place called SHECHEM (Sekhem), which is another Egyptian word for MANNA. TEONANACATL [Maya] = SOMA [Hindu] = AMBROSIA / BROMA-THEON [Greek] = MANNA [Egyptian/Hindu] It can be no coincidence that the MAYAN, EGYPTIAN, GREEK, HINDU, and ISRAELITE words for the mushroom all mean exactly the same thing: “THE BREAD OF GOD”.

MANNA was round, was found on the ground in the dew, would melt to mush if not dried or collected on time, and would breed larvae. All unique characteristics of mushrooms. When dried it was like “WAFERS OF BREAD” and it’s color was like “CORIANDER SEED”, the consistency and color of dried mushrooms, as described in Exodus Ch. 16.
Other psychedelics used in the Bible include, of course, Cannabis, Mandrake and others. This book focuses on Mushrooms: “The Global Sacrament”.
Be advised that the author does not advocate the non-ritual use of mushrooms or in any way place their importance above that of love, “Seek first the kingdom of love and all other things shall be added to you” [Christ].

Clara Rose here, an explorer of the mind ready for life's grand experiences... I'm on a bit of quest. My financial situation was quite iffy throuought the beginning of the summer, so I couldn't go to any festivals or shows, even those I was slated as VIP for (I'm a music journalist) due to the cost of travel and "fun". But now, everything's in place again and I'm down to make up for time lost this summer by making it to remaining festies like moe.down and Vegoose. Now on to the question.

Is anyone heading out to moe.down 7 (Sep. 1 - 3) Labor Day Weekend from either Chicago or NYC? If I can find a kind friend to drive out with from my hometown, that'd be optimal and marvelous, but if not I'm going to buy a plane ticket to NYC where hopefully I'll have found someone that's also heading out. I figure the NYC bet may be easier, since the festival is in upstate New York.

I'll pay for half of gas and food and whatever goodies the person is down with. :) I'll also provide more wacky conversation and contagious smiles than a human being can handle. Well, you can probably handle it.

I just joined a new Social Network! I know what you are thinking
already... but I promise you, this one is a lot different. Check out
my site at:

http://www.beseencafe.com/rafaelcolorina

In fact, this is unlike any other Social Network out there today.
Why? Because it will be in video! We'll be able to have our own
TV network with live video, video broadcasting, video email,
pay-per-view videos, and so much more!

It is in pre-launch right now and we have an opportunity to
build our community at no cost... oh and by the way, there
will be several ways that we can make earn money from
this new Network!

Again, my site is:

Their songs range from such covers as Kashmir (yes, the Led Zeplin cover) to Feel like Dancin'(did somebody say BeeGees?) Throw in The Weight and a little Norweigen Wood and what else do you need? Their originals stretch from the ever popular and raucous Squall to the insightful and tenderly loving Queen Elizabeth. Story telling abilities are displayed in such tunes as Dovetail, In These Parts, Evolution, Honey Be and Idaho Pines. Kissing Cousins will have you looking to your left and looking to your right and making new friends this night !
The Hawk Winter Music Festival: A Celebration of Chicago's Music Scene

The League of Chicago Music Venues is proud to present Chicago's first annual The Hawk Winter Music Festival: A Celebration of Chicago's Music Scene, February 17, 18 and 19, 2006. Held in celebration and support of Chicago's civic-minded local music venues, The Hawk is a three-day showcase of musicians, local businesses and community leaders. The League of Chicago Music Venues is a group of Chicago music venue owners concerned with promoting venue safety and security, while celebrating the diversity, vibrancy and contribution of the music industry in Chicago. Named "The Hawk" after the infamous cutting wind in our fair city, The Hawk Winter Music Festival will sweep across the city like its namesake, blasting a fresh air of great music across town.

From February 17th through the 19th, eleven Chicago music venues including Metro, Uncommon Ground, Hideout, Martyrs, Schubas, Double Door, Empty Bottle, HotHouse, Park West, House of Blues and Buddy Guy's Legends will present a celebration of music in Chicago. In addition to nightly concerts, there will be several children's matinees and all ages events on Sunday, February 19th, and neighborhood businesses will participate as onsite exhibitors. A special Festival Pass will allow access to all music venues on Sunday.

A friend of mine is opening up a bar on Old Western Avenue which is near 127th street. I play drums and want to get back to playing. I sit in for the Beverly All Stars (jazzers) who play at Cafe Luna on 99th street on Wednesdays. I have a PA. Anyone interested? Not much pay, probably the cover charge or tip jar. I'm looking to do it just for fun. This could include singers who want a night out. Or it could be just jazz fusion. No strong committment is needed. Let me know.

Brothers Past is a 4-piece from Philly with a sound that I can only describe as artsy, electronic rock meets drum and bass. Intense, yet VERY danceable. Hope some of you can make it!

Hey everyone......SORRY this post is so late, but all must check out the Belmont-Sheffield Music Festival this Sat (5th) and Sun (6th). There are some great groups playing. Yours truely, "Pie", will be playing 1PM-6PM (both days) with his sidekick "Tobias" at the Trader Todd stage. We will be playing right next to Don "OGRE" Gibb. You all remember OGRE? He is the big, goofey eyed, teddy bear of a guy from REVENGE OF THE NERDS. He will be sitting in a lazy boy (reclyner) signing autographs and promoting his incredible beer (Ogre Light and Ogre Red). Come one, come all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
